30th Dec - I'm kinda touched and happy with work here. the ppl who are working together with me here are - Helen, Chang, Yan and Ching.. as far as I know. Helen is my right hand, she helps me with alot of decision making and etc. it has been only 2 weeks working together with these China ppl, & they are fun and nice. We do have some communication prob as U know, i dont speak Mandarin very well, i'm most of the time 'lost' to what they are saying.
i spend alot of time talking to them, training them on our products, how to sell, how to display and most important of all is to communicate with each other and of coz Our BOSS. i have been hearing alot of stories of other Branch Managers and these s call them 'Scary ppl'. When i told them these other 'scary managers' will come back to this branch, they all got panic and started to 'ching ching chang chang' (speaking in mandarin) and started telling me off! hahahhaha... they want me! Me! as their Manager! no one else!! to my shocking surprise, they really like me, how i manage them & how much fun they r having, even tho we did badly for the day's sales, improving our display, trying their best to do lots of sales.. well then, come backs to think of it, I wasn't having fun working in 'Hell', Management was BAD, NO teamWork and.. well u all know la.. no nid to complain again! so... U think about it... specially when i hear ppl telling others that 'She cant take the pressure/stress/etc of Hell' ... yeah rite! i would ask U a big challenge! Come over here and work for a week! let's see who will survive...
1. staying in YMCA, shared bathroom and kitchen, no laundret!
2. No entertainment at nite, after 6pm onwards stuck in e room!
3. on Sundays, everywhere here is closed early.. dont even think of shopping!
4. work from 9 to 6, having a y damn Sales Quota to meet everyday, Be responsible for the 'Sales R the lowest amongst all other shops, Dono what the hell r u doing there! fooling around' and all the rubbish you can get fr the big boss...
5. no private internet for U, it's shared as well. and full of restrictions
6. the most challenging thing - Handling the business... in every single aspect = people, customer, product, pricing, display, quota to meet, stock keeping, money, blaa blaa
oh.. not to forget, the travelling i do, dragging all ur laugage along for the next few months, no permanent place to stay... anyone interested in this job??
